A Middle Eastern feast that is as meaningful as it is delicious…
We’re partnering with refugee charity, New Routes, to bring you unctuous Egyptian/Syrian food, cooked by talented chef Salah El Nagar. Salah was an Egyptian political refugee himself, and was supported by the New Routes program.
At First Draft, Salah will be going back to his roots, and serving up the traditional cuisines he loves, his way. Expect proper hummus and baba ganoush like you’ve never tried them, lemon and yogurt marinated shish taouk, and incredible pistachio baklava from Syrian pastry chef, and Salah’s number two, Radwan.
Alongside the fee paid directly to Salah and his team for their catering, any profits from Bar and Kitchen will be donated to New Routes.

Norwich is full of culinary talent. We wanted to create a venue to showcase it – to give start-up and experimenting chefs the sort of platform that could help launch fresh career ventures.
Norwich is also full of discerning foodies (like you!). We hope you'll join us at First Draft Bar & Kitchen to try the next big thing, before it happens.

If you want to eat with us, we recommend booking, as we have limited table seating. We do always have bar seating available for walk-ins, where you can usually order small plates.
